Johannes Gritschacher is an established drummer hailing from Austria. At just 22 he has played in a variety of styles including Pop, Jazz and Fusion. He racked up an impressive list of awards and performance experiences in his home country before moving to Boston after his acceptance to the renowned Berklee College of Music where he graduated with a major in Drum Performance and completed his third year in Contemporary Writing and Production studies. He’s constantly striving to grow as a musician and has had guidance from mentors such as Hal Crook, George Garzone, Kim Plainfield, Ian Froman, Terri Lyne Carrington, Casey Scheuerell and Billy Kilson.
Johannes has already begun to make his mark in the music industry. As an active studio musician and live performer, he embodies all the traits of a modern drummer. Whether it is playing all styles, smoothly sight-reading or incorporating electronics into his live performances, Johannes’ perfected skills give him a unique and desirable edge into today’s industry. These skills have allowed Johannes to build an impressive resume as a drummer, including experiences such as opening for Maroon 5 in Morocco for a crowd of 200,000 and playing and recording with different artists from all over the world.
Aside from being a busy performance artist, Johannes has also honed his skills as a Writer, Arranger and Producer. He has experience in creating underscores for short movies, writing music for commercials and even full Pop productions. His skills as a leader allowed him to work as a MD and drummer on a video with the YouTube sensation and Pop duo Karmin.
In 2016 Johannes moved to Los Angeles, where he works now as a full-time musician. In June he started working with Kim Burse (Musical Director for Beyoncé, Ciara and Jennifer Lopez) after being selected through a long process of auditions.
His passion is to work as a drummer, producer and musical director with people who share the same innovative and joyful approach to music.
